Forest days in Sand in Taufers

As part of the project to optimize the district heating supply with a demonstration power plant and educational facility in Sand in Taufers, a forest day with a tour of the biomass heating plant was organized for the children of the elementary school and carried out in cooperation with the district heating operator Taufer GmbH, the forestry station Sand in Taufers and the nature meetup Eisvogel.  At a total of six stations and over two days, the children were taught in a playful way about the topic of energy production from wood, wood management, but also a wide variety of topics related to climate and environmental protection. The project succeeded in putting a smile on the faces of more than 200 children.
