Project description

This project concerns the "Kinderdorf" bridge near Brixen, which is used as a highway overpass.
Due to economic reasons, the decision was made to not adapt the existing structure, but rather to demolish it and build a new one.
The new supporting structure consists of a steel-reinforced concrete arch and a pre-stressed steel-reinforced concrete roadway slab with a total length of 52.50 meters. The crest of the arch is designed as a fixed bearing point for reducing longitudinal deformations of the overall supporting structure.
Since it is necessary to guide the pressure from the arch into the bearing points, the abutments were designed in solid steel-reinforced concrete.
The foundations of the abutments rest on bored piles with a diameter of D=1.5 meters and a length of 25 meters.
The arch-shaped design of the supporting structure (lg = 42.0 meters) creates a light-weight and dynamic impression and integrates seamlessly into the landscape.
