Kindergarten, Niederolang / Valdaora di Sotto

This kindergarten is located in the center of the village of Niederolang at an altitude of 1,020 meters above sea-level. The existent kindergarten was demolished and a new building constructed. The building fits seamlessly into the surrounding ensemble of buildings. At the same time, it has a modern flair. The building fits in while still maintaining its own identity. It radiates self-confidence and ease. The general feel of the village was taken and incorporated. The kindergarten provides the architectural conditions for both security and freedom – both very important for a child's development. For this reason and in reaction to the spatial components of the surroundings, the building and yard were designed to form a unit. The three-story kindergarten has a clear, compact design and is located at the north edge of the parcel.
