Mobility center, Bruneck / Brunico
Project description
In the context of extensive measures to improve public transportation in the Puster / Pusteria Valley, a mobility center was established at the Bruneck train station. This center integrates such diverse forms of conveyance as railway, bus, automobile, bicycle, and travel by foot. Special care was taken in the comprehensive planning of traffic spaces and functional areas and the efficient logistical structure, while ensuring the barrier-free accessibility of all areas and the protection of historical buildings.
Completed constructional measures: Fully accessible pedestrian underpass beneath the railroad tracks (80 meters) from the plaza in front of the train station to the Stegener Marketplace and a onramp and exit (100 meters) for the underground parking garage: Roofing-over of the middle station platform, expansion and elevation of all station platforms, refurbishment of the entire railroad tracks, and renovation of the historic train station auxiliary buildings.
