Elementary school, Terenten/Terento

Beginning from the existent structure dating back to the 1970s which housed both the school and the kindergarten, a concept was gradually developed in order to give each institution more space and interaction while also integrating the village library. The ensemble of buildings opens up towards the village and vice-versa. It has become part of the everyday scenery. The basic architectural idea is to calm the overall visual impression of the existent school so as to clearly integrate it into the surroundings. To this end, dormers were removed, overhanging roof reduced, and the school’s entry area and the façade in the area of the assembly hall were redesigned.
