Höller single-family residential dwelling, Lana
Project description
The living space of this new single-family residential dwelling is in a single story standing on column. The natural topography was not altered. The floor and ceiling slabs of this flat-bodied structure join with the north façade to form a reclining "U"; the other three facades are completely glazed. On the south side, a roof slab with a sizable overhang protects the terrace, which is open on three sides. A round tower penetrates both ceiling slabs and provides the building with structural rigidity. The main body stands on thin steel rods, and was designed to withstand external forces; distortions are kept to within acceptable tolerances without resulting in any annoying vibrations. The load-bearing effect had to be simulated with extreme precision to permit modeling.
