Project description

In the context of electrifying the railroad of the Vinschgau / Val Venosta, the train station at Marling (near Meran / Merano) was also renovated and expanded. Pedestrians and the local populace prize the railroad as a modern, attractive, and sustainable means of transportation. But it is also of major importance for the tourism sector. The reconstruction includes the construction of a new pedestrian underpass for non-controlled access to the new train platforms. Modern, roofed bicycle racks, a parking lot, and a bus stop allow passengers to easily and directly transfer from one form of transportation to another. Furthermore, the train station was also furnished with a new WC. All in all, the contractor succeeded in achieving a complete solution in perfect harmony with the surroundings and the landscape which also features elements of the "Vinschgau Train Station Model" and so retains the overall look and feel of the Vinschgau railroad system.
